Posture Correction

Remember when your mum used to tell you "sit up straight" or "stick your chest out"? If only it was that simple! Thankfully though, there are some easy steps you can take to improve your posture. Try this standing up:

posture correction
  1. Suck your belly button back towards your spine and stand tall
  2. Tuck your tail bone under a little bit
  3. Feel your buttocks muscles working
  4. Soften the knees
  5. Feel your weight evenly through your feet
  6. Relax your shoulders
  7. Lift your chin slightly
  8. Remember to breathe!

It takes time to adjust to these new habits so just keep doing it every time you remember. When you're brushing your teeth, washing your hair, waiting for the kettle to boil - whenever you are standing still, go through these steps. Soon it'll become natural and you won't feel so wooden!

Pilates is great for teaching you posture correction so why not try and find a class near you.
